What We Do

Our mission is to help individuals, families and communities stop alcohol/drug abuse and addiction.

Our community based services include the following services:

Addiction Hurts - ACT

This is a program for loved ones and family members of those suffering from alcohol and/or drug addiction.

Counselors conduct an in-depth interview to determine the extent of any substance abuse problems. Referrals are made where indicated and to determine the most appropriate type of treatment.

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: Angleton & Bay City Offices

Counselors screen both adults and youth to determine if there is a need for referral to services and to identify whether there is a need for referral to services and to identify whether there is a need of further assessment concerning alcohol, tobacco, drug, or other issues.

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY: Angleton & Bay City Offices

FEE: There is no cost for screenings.

Support Groups

Recovery Support Groups offer encouragement and support to help maintain an alcohol and drug free lifestyle.  These groups are intended to assist in developing skills to promote healthy living and increase your chances for full recovery.

Clear Lake Office: Every Tuesday (except holidays) 10:00am - 11:00am

Angleton Office: Every Wednesday (except holidays) 4:00pm - 5:00pm

BACODA Community Coalition Department follows a public health approach to community-wide substance abuse prevention, with a focus on preventing underage drinking, college-age binge drinking, prescription drug misuse and abuse, and marijuana use. We have four community coalitions: Galveston County Community Coalition, Brazoria County Community Coalition, Southeast Harris County Community Coalition, and Tri-County Community Coalition which serves Matagorda, Wharton, and southern Fort Bend Counties.

The VetCorp program provides BACODA the unique opportunity to work through our coalitions to enhance community support and access to services for veterans and military families in Galveston County.  We honor our Vets, we partner with existing community resources creating a safety net of support for veterans and military families, and we raise awareness about community services available to veterans through outreach events, media campaigns, and community involvement.
