What We Do

Counseling

Clients served by KIDS are primarily identified through local law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, school counselors and health care professionals as cases of child abuse are reported and investigated.

Other referral resources include the Texas Dept. of Protective and Regulatory Services and other

Community agencies that serve families.  Through public relations work throughout the county with schools, medical personnel and the public in general, many victims are referred as signs of abuse become evident.  Clients can find us by calling numbers listed on our educational materials, promotional products, newspaper ads and the KIDS website.

Prevention

Prevention education programs are provided to school children as well as local service clubs.  Booths at health fairs and other public functions are manned by volunteers.

K.I.D.S. is prous to be an advocate for the children of Matagorda County and strives toward the vision that every child is protected from abuse.  K.I.D.S. is committed to helping Matagorda County become a community that values the importance of preventing child abuse and nurturing those who are victims of abuse.
