CASA of Matagorda and Wharton Counties

Who We Are

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a national volunteer movement that began more than 30 years ago, when Judge David Soukup in Seattle decided he needed to know more about the children whose lives were in his hands.  He asked community volunteers to act as a "voice in court" for abused and neglected children.

Matagorda County CASA, Inc serve the abused children of Matagorda and Wharton counties who have been removed from their home through no fault of their own and placed in foster care.
