The Palacios' Club Needs board members who want to impact their community and have a heart for children.  Board members meet every other month and more so during fundraiser time.

We are looking for new volunteers who will advocate for abused and neglected children's best interests. Our volunteers are trained and assigned to one case. They get to know everything about the abused or neglected child or sibling group in their case. They then make fact based best interest recommendations to the court. All hours depend on case. 

Seeking an individual with previous experience in fundraising to assist with upcoming fundraising events. Will assist Executive Director and Coordinators with planning and implementation of fundraisers.

Assists the Volunteer Coordinator in preparing The Crisis Center Hi-Lites newsletter for distribution.  This will include folding, stuffing and sealing the  newsletters.  Duration is usually 1-2 weeks, per quarter.  You will need to complete a Volunteer application, which will require a background check. 

2 hours training will be given.

Assists manger/assistant with keeping the shop clean and neat.  Hangs up clothes as directed.  Periodically removes empty hangers from racks and re-hangs clothing.  Throws away boxes and trash as needed.

Requires 4 hours of orientation.  Volunteer Application requires background check.

Assists Office Manager as directed including but not limited to filing, typing, shredding, making copies, answering the busineses phone line and helping with The Crisis Center Hi-Lites newsletter when necessary.  Volunteer shall greet visitors and clients and direct them to the correct caseworker.  Volunteer shall assist with the maintenance of brochures including keeping display case stocked and ensuring that all brochures are properly stamped with The Crisis Center's name, address and phone number.

Requires 8 hours of training.  Volunteer Application requires background check.

Shall provide assistance to the fundraising committee including the solicitation of donations and participation of special events as they arise.  Assists with mailing letters and flyers.  Posting flyers and other assistance as directed.

Available to speak on behalf of the Crisis Center to local civic organizations, churches and schools.  Shall be able to provide information pertaining to our services, shelter policies, resale shop and daily office operations.

For those interested in volunteering at Manna Meals, many of our teams would be glad to have additional people to help. Each team is responsible for preparing & serving a meal no more than once per month. New volunteers can come one evening to see if this type of activity is the type of service you are looking to provide. After this trial experience, the new volunteer would need to make a commitment to be a consistent, reliable member of a team.

Manna Meals would also be interested in adding new teams. If you have a church, civic or business group that may want to start a team, we would be interested in adding you to our regular rotation schedule but would also be willing to have your team provide occasional meals. We would gladly meet with potential team leaders and let them speak with our existing team leaders so there is a better understanding of what effort is required to serve a typical meal.
